100% Love Movie Review

Film: 100% Love
Starring: Naga Chaitanya,Tamannah Bhatia
Director: Sukumar
Producer: Bunny Vasu
Banner: Geetha Arts
Music: Devi Sri Prasad

Rating : ( 4/5)

Story:
Set on a flashback mode, the story begins with Balu (naga chaitanya) who narrates his tale. He is a topper throughout his academics and is highly self-centric. His life takes a turn with the arrival of Mahalakshmi (tamannah), his maradalu from the village to study in the city. She has a strong liking for Balu but he ignores her as he wants to associate with success. In no time, Mahalakshmi picks up and at one point she scores better than him. However, ego clashes happen and both of them part ways. Eventually, their marriages get fixed with someone else. What happens after that forms the rest of the story

Main plus for the movie :

The first half of 100% Love is probably one of the most refreshing piece of work in the recent times. It has got tons of comedy situations that bring out genuine laughs. The best part is that most of them are situational and never slow the screenplay. Naga Chaitanya is suave to the level of being egoist. Tamannah has the looks, and she is probably the surprise package of the film, whose talent is difficult to go unnoticed.

The chemistry between the lead pair should only be watched on screen to be believed. Naga Chaitanya gives a calm skin to his character, who innately works hard to be on top of the class every time. Tamannah on the other hand, is buoyant outwards, but struggles to keep up with the ‘intelligent’ Balu. It is this struggle inside both these character that drives them towards each other crazily, while also making them compete against one another fiercely.

Also it is this struggle, intelligently disguised in entertaining situations, helped by the conviction of both the lead actors, that is pleasing to watch.
The other characters rally around these two, to come up with decent performances. Most noteworthy of them are the kids. They are outright hilarious. Naresh, K.R.Vijaya, M.S.Narayana, Dharmavarapu, Vijay Kumar etc. do well too. With few college situations, amazing montage sequences, creatively shot songs the first half is breezy and terrific.

Performances
Naga Chaitanya gave a spirited performance and he is yet to come out of his blank facial expressions in few scenes. Overall, his confidence and positive body language covers up.

Tamannah has shrunk in her figure and looks a bit skinny. However, she has scored with a significant performance and justified her presence to the fullest. Of course, there are few places where she shines with her glamour as well.

Nandu comes up with a decent act and though his role is limited, he made his presence felt. He has the potential to deliver more if given meaty roles.

Naresh was natural, Dharmavarapu brought few smiles, K R Vijaya was matured, Vijay Kumar was alright. The others did their bit as required and added value to the film.

Highlights

Cinematography
Tamannah’s glamour and performance
Opening titles
Youthful elements
Entertaining first half
Novel approach

Minus

Second half slows down a bit
Weak emotional quotient in scenes
Strong urban flavour
Rendering of songs not that effective
Climax is somewhat confusing

Analysis :

The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were hard hitting in few scenes, the script was strong but the screenplay was above average. Background score was effective and songs are alright. Cinematography was appealing with vibrant shades. Editing was adequate. Costumes were trendy while the art department was matching the situations. Naga Chaitanya came up with a good performance and entertains. Tamannah looks pretty and more than that, she has proved to be an efficient performer, K R Vijaya was elegant, Vijay Kumar was alright, Naresh was natural, Dharmavarapu was humorous, Nandu was good, M S Narayana was apt, the others did their bit as required.

Cine andhra Verdict: entertaining, Must watch film,a coll breeze in hot summer
